Psychiatric Consultation
Helps diagnose and treat mental health disorders.
Our psychiatrists assess patients, considering psychological, biological, and social factors, and provide accurate diagnoses with treatment recommendations to mitigate the risks of compromised mental health.
This service is beneficial for those experiencing conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, mood or anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism, borderline personality disorder, depression, dissociative disorders, eating disorders, OCD, and PTSD.
Our experts guide patients and their families on managing symptoms and long-term care. Diagnoses also reveal potential sources of problems, including inherited conditions, poor nutrition, physical illness, hormones, stress, childhood experiences, relationship problems, and cultural issues.

Psychological Assessments
Tests that understand why a patient is experiencing psychological discomfort.
Our psychologists conduct various tests, including aptitude, learning disability, and skills tests for dexterity, reaction time, and memory. These assessments help diagnose conditions and identify issues such as anger management problems, interpersonal skills deficits, personality traits, anxiety, or depression.
This comprehensive evaluation allows our psychologists to determine the best treatment approach to address and manage mental health issues effectively.
Psychiatric Rehabilitation
Runs as a day treatment program and includes psychotherapy, family psychoeducation and case management.
KEH specializes in psychiatric rehabilitation, distinguishing us from other mental health care providers. Our day treatment program includes individual psychotherapy, group therapies, family therapies, counseling, and case management, operating six days a week. The goal is to reintegrate patients into society and help them become functional members.
Using a three-step recovery approach for both inpatients and outpatients, the program focuses on symptom management and developing daily living and vocational skills. The ultimate aim is to achieve functional recovery for all patients.

The Rehabilitation program (also referred to as the Day Care program) has various therapeutic groups to facilitate patients’ recovery.
- Clinical Group Therapies
- Skill-Building Groups
- Leisure and Lifestyle Groups
- Out-Patient and Psychological Clinics
The program is evidence-based, with the following key features:

Community Outreach
Treatment of choice for the severely mentally unstable patients in the community setting.
KEH’s Community Outreach Program brings mental health care directly to patients, eliminating the need for them to visit clinics or hospitals. This service is crucial for marginalized communities and those unable to attend appointments.
We provide screening and treatment at patients’ doorsteps, enhancing treatment adherence and potentially preventing the need for inpatient care.
Our free community outreach camps are conducted weekly or fortnightly at 22 locations throughout Karachi. If you cannot visit our centers in Keamari or Korangi, find us at a nearby outreach camp.

Occupational Therapy
Assist patients in behavioral health settings through psychoeducational groups to help mental health patients to engage with each other despite the symptoms, treatment plans, and more.
At KEH, occupational therapists conduct psychoeducational groups for both inpatients and outpatients to support mental health patients in engaging with each other despite their symptoms and treatment plans.
These groups focus on key areas such as:
- Self-care
- Relaxation and stress reduction
- Coping strategies
- Emotion regulation
- Symptom management
- Instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
- Mobility or family re-entry
- Social skills and communication
Our approach aims to achieve complete functional recovery by tailoring therapy to each patient’s mental illness, promoting their ability to interact and function effectively.
Tele-psychiatry
Delivery of psychiatric assessment and care through telecommunications technology, usually videoconferencing.
Stigma often prevents individuals from seeking mental health care, but tele-psychiatry makes it accessible by connecting patients with psychiatrists through digital platforms. This allows remote assessments and care without hospital visits.
KEH provides quality mental health services anywhere with internet access, making it easier for those in rural areas and reducing travel time.
For appointments or more information on tele-psychiatry, call +92-21-111-534-111.

Neurological Consultation
Diagnosis, management and treatment of conditions that effect the nervous system.
Neurologists at KEH conduct an initial diagnosis, discuss the recommended tests and give medications or recommendations for available therapies to reduce the symptoms.
