A Quick Recovery Case
Miss S came to Karwan-e-Hayat for psychiatric rehabilitation treatment. She came here with the issues of hallucination, delusion, and stubbornness, aggression and marriage phobia. A holistic treatment plan was designed for her recovery plan. Twice a week therapy to treat her phobias and anger management. After the initial assessment her therapy sessions were started.
During sessions she was very open to communicate about her problems. The good thing about her was that she was very cooperative from the first session and also has a good insight about all her symptoms.
Miss S was admitted to the female psychiatric ward for 20 days. She was facilitated by proper psychiatric services, where timely medication helps her in reducing symptoms.
On the other hand she continued going to daycare where a psychologist and occupational therapist conducts different sessions from 9 Am to 1:00 PM that follows a variety of activities including yoga session, library session, clinical group sessions and art/craft session. The clinical group sessions include different topics that are based on evidenced based practices to be helpful for controlling her anger issues and stubbornness and phobias. Gradually she starts getting better.
Later on the 20th day, the last debriefing session was conducted by a psychologist to psycho educate Miss S and her guardian. In this session she received instructions about her current needs related to illness, role of medication and daily life schedule for a structured living so that relapse can be prevented. She was very happy on her discharged day because she has realized that it is not the end and much happiness is waiting for her in later life.
