Akbar’s Journey with Karwan-e-Hayat

Akbar*, a capable young man, battled depression and anxiety stemming from feelings of inadequacy and fear of failure. Despite his Madrasah background, he pursued a secular and completed his B.Tech in software engineering. He started working towards a Master’s degree in Computer Science after his Bachelors, but his mental health struggles led to isolation and abandonment of studies. After numerous unsuccessful attempts with psychiatrists, he sought help at Karwan-e-Hayat, where he was diagnosed and referred for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT).

At Karwan-e-Hayat, his Individual therapy sessions began soon after diagnosis and gradually Akbar started feeling more confident and comfortable with himself. There was a positive and noticeable improvement in his attitude and behaviour. Through the CBT sessions, his confidence was restored, enabling him to resume work and studies. Akbar’s commitment to therapy, combined with self-improvement efforts, led to his career growth as a software developer. He also mended relationships, achieving a happy and productive life.
